What this connection does

Sendbot exposes an authenticated remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Compatible assistants can act within your authorized Sendbot account to create and edit drafts, inspect workspaces and folders, and help prepare bot workflows. This is different from the AI Agent MCP block inside Sendbot, which lets a published bot use tools from external MCP servers.
The public ChatGPT plugin listing is not yet approved. The remote MCP server is available for eligible custom connections, subject to the AI provider’s plan and permissions. Claude OAuth must be verified for your specific client before production use.

Server details

An unauthenticated request returning HTTP 401 with OAuth discovery information is expected. You do not need to generate an API key or paste passwords, login codes or tokens into the conversation.

Connect from ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT Plugins on the web.
  2. If your plan and workspace permit it, choose Add custom MCP server. Name it Sendbot.
  3. Paste https://api.sendbot.co/mcp into the remote MCP server URL field.
  4. Configure OAuth, review the plugin’s requested tools and follow the Sendbot secure login and consent flow.
  5. Choose Sendbot in a conversation and ask it to list workspaces you can access.
Custom connections and write operations are controlled by the AI provider. See OpenAI’s current requirements. Some plans can only access read/search capabilities until full MCP access is enabled.

Connect from Claude

  1. Open Claude Connectors.
  2. Add a custom remote connector named Sendbot using https://api.sendbot.co/mcp.
  3. Follow the browser authorization instructions supported by your Claude client.
  4. Once connected, choose an authorized workspace and request a bot draft.
  5. Review the resulting draft in Sendbot Studio.
The remote MCP capability of Claude does not establish that this particular OAuth callback is certified. If authentication fails, do not use API keys as a workaround or disable OAuth. Use ChatGPT’s verified flow or contact Sendbot support.

Create a first bot

After connecting the account, start with this prompt:
You can also ask the assistant to list workspaces, list bots, organize root folders, read bot details and update a reviewed draft. Some features require a supported plan and permissions.

Review and publish safely

  1. Open Sendbot Studio.
  2. Inspect generated messages, variables, logic, forms and existing integrations. Draft changes to arrays or credentials may require manual edits in Studio.
  3. Test the bot and check that it reflects your requirements.
  4. If you choose to publish, the assistant must obtain explicit browser approval of the exact current revision. A later change makes the previous approval stale.
Do not enter payment details, WhatsApp login information, API keys or verification codes in an AI chat. The current MCP tools cannot configure WhatsApp pairing, create a paid checkout, or act as a universal administration proxy.

Troubleshooting

  • Custom MCP option missing: Your ChatGPT or Claude plan/workspace may not enable it. Check provider documentation or ask your administrator.
  • 401 Unauthorized: Normal before OAuth. Complete the secure browser consent and retry from the assistant.
  • No workspaces: Select the same Sendbot account that owns or belongs to the desired workspace.
  • Changes not published: Draft creation is not publication. Approve the exact revision in the Sendbot browser flow.
  • Claude OAuth failure: The callback may not yet be supported by the deployment. Do not bypass authentication.
